This handsome music box is Birds Eye wood stained in a beautiful blue. Inlaid in the wood on the lid is the Star Of David done in white and two very samll lines of inlay around the edges of the lid. It has brass feet and a brass lock with a gold colored key and tassle. The interior is done in a royal blue felt and has a ring holder and open space for storage.

This incredibly rich looking and sounding music box is virtually a "One of a Kind". Only 100 pieces were ever made of this lovely music box. The musical mechanism is a rare 144 Note Sublime Harmony, manufactured in Switzerland by Reuge. It has 3 tunes on the one cylinder. Each revolution of the cylinder is one melody and then it shifts slightly to begin the next song and then again for the last song. Because of the many notes available on the cylinder, the melody is extremely harmonious and full. The lustrous"Piano Finish" on the box is many layers of hand buffed lacquer.

The handsome case is hand inlaid wood and handcrafted in Sorrento Italy. On the lid of the box are praying hands inlaid into the wood.

This piece is #45 of only 100 pieces ever made. Mint condition with the original box.

This incredible music box is actually a mirror, incased in a gold leaf frame. However,at the touch of a button, the music of a perfectly tuned 50 note swiss Reuge mechanism begins to play one of 2 different tunes. At the to touch of another button, the silver mirror dissappears to reveal what appears to be a ballroom filled with dancers. As the music plays, the dancers twirl at different timing and their feet move as if dancing.

Inside the Magic Mirror, behind the red velvet curtains which are drawn to the sides, are two couples dancing with a multiplying mirror effect behind them to give the illusion of a full ballroom. These little dolls were made by hand by Madame Marthe Phillaparte in Paris reflecting costuming of dancers of 1780... The tiny flowers were from her own garden. Their handmade costumes, typical of the 1700's, are done in period silk with real dried flowers. On the the front of the gold leaf frame is a small brass placque with the inscription "Danseaurs 1785".
