Since the Just the Right Shoe brand burst on to the market a decade ago, the artist, Raine has created roughly 500 original shoe designs that are right in step with the latest fashion trends. A dozen international and national collectible Achievement Awards, including the coveted Artist of the Year and Collectible of the Year Awards from the gift industry's largest trade associations have recognized her talent. Raine's sculptures have been commissioned and purchased by business organizations and institutions, and are part of public and private collections throughout the world.
Raine's solid traditional background in the arts lends sculptural strength and integrity of form, to her work. The levels of textural detail and the materials represented - satin, suede, rubber, cork, are all sculpted in clay, cast, and hand painted in exquisite detail. She uses the unseen anatomy of the foot, to create the illusion of these tiny sculptures having actually been worn by someone. This accomplished artist's talents in painting and design are evident with her art in the catalogs and on the miniature shoe boxes that these 4” long, highly realistic sculptures are packaged.
